Religious Education Teachers
We Need You!Religious Education is looking for several teachers at every level. The number of volunteer teachers we receive will let us know how many groups we can have. In Lower School, we would love to see more age-differentiated groups, but in order to do that, we need teachers. RE teachers need 2 things- a willing spirit and enthusiasm! Everything you need to be successful will be provided- training, lessons, materials. Typically teachers teach 1-2 Sundays a month, in addition to reading the materials prior to Sundays you teach. Teachers never teach alone, they always have a co-teacher or another parent. Please reach out to  if this sounds like something you would be interested in, or if you have questions!
Social Justice

The First Unitarian Church social justice team is looking to organize a group of members who are interested in supporting women’s reproductive rights in Utah in light of the recent supreme court decision regarding abortion access. The full scope of this work is yet to be determined but could include such efforts as supporting women traveling to other states for abortions as well as political advocacy and coordinating with other agencies such as Planned Parenthood. If you are interested in being involved please email Lisa Hyte and Phil Bossart at:

Social Justice Team
Social Justice Volunteers wanted. For the past 7 yrs, First UU mbrs, Bernie & Marita Hart have prepared breakfast 4 times a wk for the homeless. What is so unique about the program is that after enjoying breakfast, they gather to do TaiChi. Why TaiChi? TaiChi is known as meditation in motion & offers therapy & healing for PTSD, TBIs, anxiety & depression-issues the homeless face daily. Because this project aligns so well w/ 1st UU values, we now have an opportunity to help. Contact Lisa H for info at
