Children and Youth Religious Education
The mission of the Religious Education (RE) Program at First Church is to give our children and youth opportunities to:
- Engage creatively
- Cultivate community
- Foster a strong commitment to social action
- Become independent thinkers
- Encourage curiosity, compassion and personal spiritual exploration
How do we fulfill our mission?
For the 2018- 2019 church year, our theme for RE is Peace Matters. Throughout the year we will be exploring our Unitarian Universalist faith through mindfulness and social justice.
One of the primary goals of RE is introducing Unitarian Universalist principles and practices that enable children and youth to embrace our Seven Principles.

Philosophy & Goals
At its core our RE program: (1) explores topics that illuminate the history and meaning of Unitarian Universalism, (2) focuses on issues of social justice and on a higher plane, (3) considers the interdependent web of nature.
