Music at First Unitarian Church is central to our worship and community, bringing together people of all ages in celebration and reflection. Under the dedicated direction of Music Director David Owens, our department offers a variety of choirs and musical opportunities for all ages and experience levels.
Our Chancel Choir is a non-audition group supporting the musical ministry of the church. The choir meets every Wednesday at 7 PM. If you’d like to be part of the choir or are thinking about it, please join us for rehearsal any Wednesday from late August through mid-May. All are welcome! If you have questions, please email the choir leadership at: choiradmin@slcuu.org
The Bell Choir adds a unique, harmonious layer to our musical offerings, creating a beautiful and resonant soundscape. This ensemble welcomes those with an interest in handbell music, contributing to services with their moving and joyful performances.
For our youngest music enthusiasts, the Junior Singers (Children's Choir) provides an engaging introduction to singing in a group and performing for the congregation. This choir builds confidence and joy in musical expression and is open to children who love to sing.
Together, our music ministry fosters a strong sense of community and enriches the worship experience for all. Whether you’re looking to join a choir, support music at First Unitarian, or simply enjoy the beauty of live performance, our music department offers something for everyone.
